CHRISTIANITY IS NOT CHRISTIAN
Thank you for listening to the Narrow Way Christian Ministry online Church service, today's sermon is a part of the understanding the Gospel Series, and I would like to start as always by reading a scripture from the book of (1 Samuel 16:7) But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
The title of my Sermon today is Christianity is not Christian, and the purpose of this sermon is to make a clear distinction between Christianity, and being a true Bible believing Christian. In this sermon I am going to talk about what it means to be a Christian, and also explain the true meaning of what the world perceives today as Christianity. The expression of this sermon is very important to me, because most people see no difference between true Christians and Christianity, so hope that this sermon will open your mind to the contrasts, and opposing ideals of the two.
WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?
I would like to begin by defining the word Christian and where this term originates, the Bible says in the book of (Acts 11:26) And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Now the word Christian appears two other times in the Bible, again in the book of (Acts 26:28), and one last time in the book of (1 Peter 4:16), the word Christian is a biblical word which literally means follower of Christ, and according to scripture believers of Jesus were first called Christians at a place called Antioch which is now modern day Turkey. But with this in mind I would like to note that the word Christianity never appears once in the Word of God, but yet this term has been adopted by the world as a blanket description for all religions that claim to believe the Bible, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. So I believe it is imperative today, to make a clear distinction between the ideals and mindset of the worlds Christianity and the ideals and mindset of a true Bible believing Christian. It is my genuine hope that after listening to this sermon, you as a believer will be able to distinguish the difference, and that you would decide to reject the ideals and concepts of Christianity if you have not already done so. The Bible says in the book of (1 Kings 18:21) And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
As a true Christians we cannot be stuck between two opinions, we must follow the LORD whole heartedly so in order for my message to be effective I would like to give you a comprehensive description of what the world today knows as Christianity, and its overall substance. The Bible says in (Proverbs 18:12-13) Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility. He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.
WHAT IS CHRISTIANITY?
So we must ask the question, what is Christianity? Christianity is a sub culture that is very prevalent in today’s world, and is recognized by society as a representation of Jesus, and the teachings of the Bible. However this sub culture does none of these things, at one time or another, Christianity may have supported the ideals of the true believer, however the subculture of Christianity does not represent Jesus or what it means to be a Christian, and it never will. The reason that it does not, and cannot reflect the ideals of a Christian, is because Christianity accepts the unsaved into its ranks, and compromises the teachings of the Bible in order to accommodate them, and for this cause has Christianity created a division among God’s people, making it a necessity to form denominations to separate themselves from heretics, who Christianity has labelled as Christian. The Bible tells us in (Ephesians 4:4-5) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Now I would like to note that the culture of Christianity has completely destroyed this biblical concept, and Christianity has become everything that God did not want His people to be. Christianity preaches acceptance and love for all, whereas the Bible tells us to come out from among them and be ye separate. God tells His people to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather to reprove them, Christianity on the other hand tells us not to judge anyone, and that any interpretation of the scriptures is valid. The ideals and mindset of Christianity are in total opposition to God, and because of this, Christianity hinders the growth of God’s people who have been unlucky enough to find themselves yoked together with it, and its non-biblical idealism.
CHRISTIANITY IS SPIRITUAL DESTRUCTION
Many of God’s people are tied down, and their spirit is oppressed by Christianity, the subculture of Christianity often perverts the reality of Christian Church members, because Christianity is built on the idea and attitude that only feelings of happiness and love are normal, and acceptable in the Christian life. But the Bible teaches in (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
And brothers and sisters Christianity has abandoned the concept illustrated in this scripture in favour of a self-serving love for everything, and everyone, and this is why the religion of Christianity prevents so many from being saved. Christianity cloaks many unsaved people with the righteousness of Jesus Christ, and applies the wisdom and knowledge of God, to lazy and unlearned Christians who refuse to study the scriptures, that they claim to live their life by, all which the world then sees and associates with Jesus, and those who truly follow Him. Christianity has applied the righteousness of Jesus Chris,t to the unrighteous people who reject clear commandments written in scriptures, and live according to the ways of the world, which the world then sees and associates this hypocrisy with Bible believing Christians. The Bible say in (Romans 2:24) For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
And God’s name is blasphemed by unbelievers because of Christianity. God’s name is blasphemed because Christianity has become a multinational business, while yet claiming it is not for profit. It takes advantage of the world through tax concessions, even though Jesus instructed his followers to pay their taxes, in fact Jesus told his disciples to in (Matthew 22:21) Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
Christianity has become big business, owning record labels and publishing houses that pedal their wears to church leaders, that then market them to their flock in the house of God, truly fulfilling the words of Jesus when he said (Matthew 21:13) As it I written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
God’s name is blasphemed by the unsaved, and it is even questioned by the saved because of the hypocrisy and lies of Christianity, God’s people are intentionally mislead by much of their leadership, and confused on simple issues because Christianity has perverted their understanding. Christianity through its self-righteous love and acceptance, has allowed Sodomites and other abominable reprobates to find a home in the local Church, further destroying God’s people through their wickedness. And it is because of this, we as true believers must separate ourselves from this subculture, we as Bible believing Christians cannot be conformed to the world and its ideals, we cannot let Christianity tell us who to be, and what is acceptable, we must let the Bible be our final authority because Christianity is a false reality that only exists in the minds of the world and the self-righteous among it, The realities of being a true Christian are much different.
The Bible says in the book of (John 15:18-19) If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
FOLLOWING AFTER CHRIST
The reality of a true Christian is much different from that of Christianity. The uncomfortable truth is that to be a Christian is to hated by the world, followers of Christ will suffer persecution because the message of the Bible has never been popular. Proof of this is the fact that the very Word of God Jesus Christ was rejected, and executed by His own people. Jesus said that the world hated Him because He testified of it that its works were evil, and a Christian will do likewise, and be hated accordingly. But with this in mind being a Christian is the only thing that brings true happiness. Through receiving the spirit of God and studying the scriptures you come to know God and just what manner of love that God has bestowed upon you. Being a Christian is seeing God answering your prayers, and seeing Him work in your life. Being a Christian is studying the Bible and having God open your eyes to a knowledge that you did not have before. Being a Christian is also a life spent struggling against temptation and failing to keep your life in accordance with God’s standards. However while at all times you must rightfully divide the word of truth, and confess your transgressions before the Creator of the World. Being a Christian brings great heaviness, your eyes become open to a reality that others do not understand, or even acknowledge its existence. Believe it or not being a Christian is a burden, but Jesus said in (Matthew 11:28-30) Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy Laden and I shall give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
THE YOKE OF JESUS
Yes being a Christian is a burden, but Jesus said that His yoke is easy and his burden is light. A wise man will read that scripture will see that being Yoked together with Jesus makes your burden light, a wise man will also see that the yoke of the world is uneasy and dangerous indeed, and its burden very heavy. I understand as a Christian that the world, and all things of it are folly, but make no mistake Being a Christian is a hard life. Being a Christian for me was a long time spent with an obsession with the study of end time Bible prophecy, and realizing and fearing that I am living in the end times as recorded in Bible prophecy. Being a Christian is sometimes doubting and being afraid, while always knowing that you have already overcome the world through your faith in Jesus. Being a Christian is about not being afraid to love the name of Jesus openly and carry a Bible, knowing that today, people all around the world people are being murdered for this exact reason, it is about knowing that through out history millions of people have been tortured, raped and killed for doing what you do every day, and this is the reality of being a Christian. Being a Christian is fearing God more than death while not fearing the adversary trying to destroy you everyday. while in contrast, Christianity disregards God altogether, and fears the world and conforms to the devil. There is a huge difference between being a Christian and Christianity, and I would like to conclude today’s sermon by saying this. The world has blurred the line of what it means to be a Christian. The religion of Christianity has succeeded in separating God’s people, and deceiving many searching for the truth of Jesus. The false doctrine of Christianity has been perfectly designed by the Synagogue of Satan, and reinforced with false Bible versions for over 100 years. Christianity is a Maze that every one who gets saved must navigate their way through, but if your true and your heart has inclined towards God, He will be there to guide you through it. If you truly read the Bible God will never let you be deceived, for Jesus said, seek and ye shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you. If your heart has faith as a grain of mustard seed Jesus will destroy the works of the devil in your life, and give you his kingdom. Finally Christianity is a lie, and being a Christian is knowing the truth. With all that said, I would like to conclude today’s sermon with a scripture from the book of (John 8:31-32) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
