THE FALSE PROPHET: A COUNTERFEIT ELIJAH

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for listening to the Narrow Way Christian Ministry's online Church service, today’s sermon is a part of the exposing Satan series, and I would like to start out by reading a scripture from the book of (Revelation 13:13-14) And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

This sermon is called The False Prophet; A counterfeit Elijah, and the purpose of this sermon is to show you, that in the end times the False Prophet, or Second Beast detailed in Revelation 13, will be sold to the religious world as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, concerning the coming of Elijah, which will directly lead to the introduction of the Antichrist, who will be the Messiah of the Christ rejecting Jews. I will show from scripture, that the prophecies concerning the coming of Elijah were already fulfilled by the ministry of John the Baptist, and I will explain how the Synagogue of Satan will use certain scriptures found in the Bible, to make many believe that the False Prophet is actually the fulfillment of these prophecies, and that he is the coming of Elijah for the purpose of introducing the Antichrist, as a counterfeit messiah in place of Jesus Christ.

CHILDREN OF THEIR FATHER

Through my study of end time Bible prophecy, I have realized that Satan has a plan to deceive the world through counterfeiting Bible prophecy, in accordance with his ultimate goal of being worshipped in the place of God, by all men. The Bible teaches us in (Isaiah 14:12-14) that Satan wants to be in place of the Most High God, and therefore he copies the ways of God in attempt to receive worship, for example, God has a kingdom made up of his Children who are believers in the Gospel, the Devil also has a kingdom made up of his children who are often referred to in the Bible as the sons of Belial. However the most profound example of the counterfeit nature of Satan, and most relevant to this sermon is the coming of the Antichrist who will be exalted as the King of the Jews, and the messiah of Satan’s chosen people which are the modern day nation of Israel.

We know as Christians that there is only one Messiah, and king of Israel and that is Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and died for the sins of the world. We know that Jesus fulfilled all prophecy concerning the coming of Christ, however in the end times, wicked men specifically Zionist false teachers, will attempt to apply the fulfilled prophecy of Christ first coming, and the unfulfilled prophecies of Christs second coming, to the arrival of Satan’s counterfeit messiah, which will be the Antichrist, and King of modern day Israel. In like manner these same wicked Zionists and apostate Christian teachers will attribute Bible prophecy, concerning the coming of Elijah to the false prophet detailed in Revelation 13. The purpose of the coming of Elijah, according to the scriptures was to announce the arrival of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world, and the Bible teaches us very clearly that this prophecy was indeed fulfilled by John the Baptist. But this sermon will show you exactly how Satan will attempt to use the False Prophet as a satanic counterfeit of the prophecy, concerning the coming of Elijah. But before I attempt to explain the role that certain scriptures will play in the coming end time deception, I would like to show you from the Bible where this prophecy is found, and how it was fulfilled by John the Baptist.

THE COMING OF ELIJAH

The most well-known Prophecy in the Old Testament that details the coming of Elijah, and his purpose is found in the book of (Malachi 4:5-6) Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Another prophecy concerning the coming of Elijah and his purpose, is also found in the book of (Isaiah 40:3) The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. The last Old Testament scripture that I would like to list that details the coming of Elijah is once again found in the book of (Malachi 3:1) Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

So you can see from those Old Testament scriptures, that the prophecy concerning the coming of Elijah was for the purpose of preparing a people who are seeking God to receive the Lord. I would now like to show you how the New Testament details the fulfillment of these three scriptures and shows us clearly that John the Baptist was the prophet that the Bible referred to as Elijah, and his purpose was to prepare the way for the Messiah Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

JOHN THE BAPTIST AND THE SPIRIT OF ELIJAH

The Prophecy found in (Isaiah 40:3) The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God, is attributed to John the Baptist in the book of (Matthew 3:1-3) In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Also the Prophecy found in the book of (Malachi 3:1) Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me, is also attributed to John the Baptist in the book of (Mark 1:2-4) The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

And finally the New Testament records, that Jesus himself confirms that John the Baptist was the fulfillment of these prophecies, and was the coming Elijah sent to make way for the promised Messiah Jesus Christ. The Bible reads in (Matthew 11:7-14) And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Elijah, which was for to come.

I would also like to note that the people of Israel in the time of Christ, were familiar with the scriptures and were well aware of the prophecy concerning the coming of Elijah and his purpose of introducing the Messiah, however at that time the people of Israel believed that the actual person of Elijah the Prophet, recorded in the book of (1 Kings) would appear. Jesus however shed new light on this matter, and actually explained to us that these prophecies concerning the coming of Elijah were not speaking of the physical return of the actual prophet Elijah, but rather had a spiritual application, and not a physical one. Jesus once again attributes the prophecies concerning the coming of Elijah to John the Baptist, and confirms the spiritual application of the prophecies in the book of (Mark 9:11-13) And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come? And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought. But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

So far I believe I have clearly shown that the Old Testament Prophecies concerning the coming of Elijah, were fulfilled in a spiritual application by John the Baptist, and were not at all pointing to the physical return or reincarnation of the actual prophet Elijah. With this in mind however, I would now like to explain to you, how I believe the devil and his ministers will use this concept in the end times to deceive people into believing that the False Prophet, detailed in (Revelation 13:11-16) and (Revelation 19:20) is the actual return of the Old Testament Prophet Elijah, and how this Satanic counterfeit Elijah, will make way for the Antichrist, who will be a counterfeit messiah, and deceive the unsaved into worshipping Satan, and receiving the Mark of the Beast.

THE FALSE PROPHET

I have often stated that the end times will be marked with religious deception, corrupt Bible versions and other religious texts, will be used by the False Prophet, and other ministers of Satan, to deceive the masses into believing that the Antichrist is God in the flesh, and the saviour of the world. The Bible warns us that there will be a great religious leader which the scripture calls the False Prophet that will be possessed with the spirit of the devil, and through his occult power and respect in the religious world, he will succeed in uniting all religions in the worship of the Satan through the Antichrist.

I would now like to read from scripture, the most detailed information regarding the False Prophet, and then explain why I strongly believe that he will be presented to, and recognized by the so called Jews of modern day Israel, and the rest of the unsaved world as the fulfillment of the scriptures concerning the coming of Elijah. I will also why this information is important, and how I have come to this conclusion.

The False Prophet is described in (Revelation 13:11-13) And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

HE CALLS DOWN FIRE

Now I would like to focus on the part of the scripture in verse 13, where it describes the False Prophet doing great wonders, and making fire come down from heaven in the sight of men. Many people do not believe that this verse should be interpreted literally, and some have foolishly claimed that this verse is describing the dropping of bombs as we see today in modern warfare, however I believe this scripture is detailing a literal event that will take place and must be interpreted literally.

This description of the False Prophet continues in the book of (Revelation 13:14) And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

So we can see clearly from those scriptures, that the False Prophet deceives the world through the use of occult magic, that Satan gives him the power to do, and specifically through the False Prophet’s ability to call down fire from heaven. Keep in mind that the False Prophet is also described as having horns like a lamb, but speaking as a dragon, this description tells us that he will appear to the unsaved as a great man of God, and that is able to perform miracles including the calling down of fire from heaven.

Now with this in mind I would like to read to you some scripture describing the Old Testament Prophet Elijah, so I can draw a comparison. It says in (1 Kings 18:36-38) And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

So you can see by reading that scripture, the parallels between the actions of the Prophet Elijah, and the exploits of the coming False Prophet. With this in mind, it is important to remember, that those who are seeking the Messiah but have rejected Jesus as the Christ, will be watching very closely for any sign that will help them recognize the coming of who they believe to be Elijah, and this similarity will be unmistakeably and a major aspect of the deception. It is important to remember that when speaking of the coming of Elijah, who’s purpose was to introducing the Messiah to the world, the scripture says in (Malachi 3:1) Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION

Please notice in this prophetic scripture the association between the coming of Elijah, and the Messiah entering into the temple to be the messenger of the Covenant. The significance of this becomes alarmingly apparent when we read one of the Key scriptures that detail the arrival of the Antichrist. The Bible says when speaking of the Antichrist in (Daniel 9:27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Most people that study Bible prophecy agree that this scripture is detailing the arrival of the man of sin and that his appearance is associated with the rebuilding of a temple in Jerusalem. It is also widely agreed upon that this scripture is describing the antichrist confirming the restoration of Old Testament animal sacrifices. Now I would like to note that the need for both a temple and animal sacrifices were abolished by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was and is the true and only Messiah. So any effort to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem and restart animal sacrifices is in defiance of God and the work of Satan.

We also see in (Daniel 9:27) that in the middle of the prophetic week, which we know is three and a half years after the conformation of the Old Covenant animal sacrifices, that the sacrifices are stopped by the Antichrist, and the abomination of desolation spoken of by Jesus in (Matthew 24:15) is set up in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. It is very important to understand that the False Prophet is directly involved in this event, and that the overspreading of abominations otherwise known as the abomination of desolation, is actually the image of the beast mentioned in (Revelation 13:15). So to conclude my point, the prophecy concerning the coming of Elijah, is directly related to the appearance of the Messiah in the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, which I would like to remind you was already fulfilled by the cleansing of the temple by Jesus Christ as detailed in the book of (John 2:13-16).

However the Bible teaches us that in the end times a temple will once again stand in Jerusalem, and the Antichrist who will literally be Satan in the flesh, will sit on a throne in Jerusalem in the place of Christ, and exalt himself above God. As Christians we must be aware that scripture will be misused, to deceive many into believing that these events are the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, and the False Prophet will be declared as the coming of Elijah to prepare the world for the a counterfeit Christ, and king of the modern day Jews. I understand that this sermon may have been hard to follow, but I feel that it is so important to understand the counterfeit nature of the devil, and the role that prophetic scripture concerning the coming of Elijah, will be misused by Zionist, and other sons of Belial, in the coming great deception. I would like to finish with one final scripture from the book of (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
