WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for listening to the Narrow Way Christian Ministry’s online Church service, today’s sermon is a part of the Understanding the Gospel Series and is titled: What Must I Do To Be Saved. The purpose of this sermon is to explain the basic Gospel of Jesus Christ, why you need God’s Salvation, and what you must do to be saved. I would like to begin today’s sermon by reading a scripture from the book of (Acts 16:30-31) Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
WHY DO I NEED SALVATION?

The Bible teaches in the book of (Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, the Bible also teaches in the book of (Romans 3:10) There is none righteous, no, not one.
These two scriptures assure us that everybody has sinned, and none of us are considered righteous in the eyes of God. No person is without sin in their life, and this presents humanity with a serious problem. The Bible teaches in (Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death.
But what does that really mean? It simply means that sin causes death, and the Bible teaches us that human beings are sinful and have broken God's law, therefore as humans we die in our flesh as punishment for our sin, because the wages of sin is death. But even after we die in the flesh, there is another place the Bible calls the second death.
It says in (Revelation 21:8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
The Bible teaches that sinners will go to the second death, but God loves you and does not want this for you. God loves you so much that He has provided you with a way to be forgiven for all of your past and future sins, and to be saved from the second death.
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is God's word of salvation recorded in the New Testament, but what is the Gospel or good news of Jesus Christ? The answer to this question is best expressed by reading a scripture from the book of (Romans 5:8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. And also in (John 3:16-17) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
The good news is that Jesus Christ died on the cross as payment in full for all of our sins, Jesus then rose from the dead after three days and nights, showing us that he has the power of life and death, and that death has no power over him. Jesus has the power of eternal life, and he wants you to have eternal life and become one of God's children and enter into the kingdom of God. If you believe this message and you want to receive eternal life and the forgiveness of sin, God has not only made this possible, but He has also made salvation very simple. So how do you get saved and receive eternal life?
SALVATION

God's Salvation is received by faith and faith alone in the gospel of Jesus Christ, but before you can put your faith in Christ, you must acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you need forgiveness (Romans 3:23). You have to know that the punishment for sin is death and the second death (Romans 6:23) and finally you must believe that Jesus died on the cross as payment for your sins (Romans 5:8). Once a person acknowledges these things, there is only one thing left to do, and that is to call upon the name of Jesus Christ and receive him as your Saviour.
The Bible says in the book of (Romans 10:9-10) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you believe this message which is the true gospel of Jesus Christ, you can receive God's free gift of eternal life by simply calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, nothing else is required. If you believe in the gospel and want to receive Jesus, I invite you to call upon Him now and pray this simple prayer with me.
ASK GOD TO SAVE YOU

If you would like to receive the salvation of Christ and you believe in the gospel, please say this prayer with me.
"Dear LORD, I know that I am a sinner and that the punishment for my sin is death. But I believe in your Son, and in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please have mercy on me and forgive me LORD. I accept the sacrifice that Jesus made for me on the cross as payment for my sin, and I want to be saved. Please let me receive your Holy Spirit and allow me the truth of your word through reading the Bible. Please help me to understand your word and lead me to your purpose in Jesus name, Amen."
SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

If you believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have called upon Him, you will be saved It’s that simple, but with that said it is very important to understand that salvation is received through faith alone in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and you cannot trust in our own righteousness or good works (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is also essential that you know that once you are saved you are always saved, and nothing can take away your salvation or separate you from the love of Jesus Christ (John 6:37). I would like to finish today's sermon with a scripture from the book of (Romans 8:35-39) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
